Oblate spheroid bearing can decrease to up to 90% over the earthquake waves
Structurally simple, easy-to-install patented device for protecting computer servers, cultural assets,
medical equipment and other valuable property from earthquakes.
Abserver® is inspired by ancient Japanese seismic isolation technology
The key was the way granite at the base of pillars of mountain Buddhist temples slide during earthquakes
The sandwiched granite oblate spheroid at the base of a temple = our bearings
Movie of Vibration experiment
With the movie of the three-dimensional vibration stand which can reproduce the major earthquake, please see the performance of abserver®.
The right server rack is put on the seismic isolator abserver®, and the left rack is put on the floor directly without any base seismic isolator.
Right rack is placed on abserver®. What are the results?
Protect important cultural assets
Used by the Japanese National Museum and many others to protect sculptures
Fully customizable according to load
Abserver® installations can be easily customized according to its load
We determine optimal friction and seismic isolation according to the load's shape, center of gravity, and natural vibrating frequency
Multiple abservers® can be linked together for a fleet of loads, such as server racks
Abservers® can also be placed discretely per load
Abserver® installation options:
Seismic Isolation rubber pads for epicentral earthquakes
Various bearings to control friction performance
Installation is simple and can be done by anyone!
Maintenance-free design that can continuously withstand multiple earthquakes
World-class R&D
Abserver® was jointly developed in a public-private partnership between Japanese craftsmen and Tokyo Metropolitan University and Tokyo Metropolitan College of Industrial Technology.
Research and testing is continuously performed at these institutions to improve the product.
Proven performance
Excellent performance which was proved with a Japanese eminent three-dimensional vibration experimental device.
It has met and exceeded stringent standards to be used by leading automobile manufacturers, the National Museum of Japan, and leading data center providers to protect their important assets.
Easy installation Maintenance-free
Special training is not necessary in order to install an abserver®.
Assembly is simple and can be done by almost anyone. The device is also very slender and will not attract attention after installation.
We offer a customizable free-size model and a fixed-size model for server racks, giving you the ability to tailor your installation according to each site.
Customizable seismic isolation
In order to maximize seismic isolation, it is necessary to customize your abserver® installation according to the building's foundation and its natural vibrating frequency along with the characteristics of the load.
We can offer consultations to determine the suitable type and number of bearings and an optimal seismic isolation plan in consideration of these factors.
